In the Studio

The thing just isn't done until it's installed where it's supposed to be. But, in lieu of a gallery space (for which this piece is intended, despite my misgivings about the white box), I give the world this photo of my newest work, in situ, complete with background extension cord and the nuisance bee who accompanied me through the final hours of wax melting. (Can't blame her, random beeswax smells must be confusing.)

Now, close your eyes and imagine it mounted to a clean wall at about 42 inches from floor height, jutting outward as it faces you now, and lit brightly and evenly so as to illuminate the fine grain shining through the runs of wax on its surface.
